The village of Oddington lies some 2 miles east from the highest town in the Cotswold's, the market town of Stow on Wold - 'a meeting place on a rolling hill'. There are many enchanting villages the absolute quintessence of English rural life and Oddington is no Oddity in this respect, as it dates back to the 11th century and is unspoilt by tourism and still retains the character of the North Cotswold's. Sleeping in a delightful woodland setting is the Church of St. Nicholas parts of which date back to the 12th century and to this day has an interesting ''doom' painting on its wall. This church still provides services and ceremonies for the village. Many of the village cottages are of 18th & early 19th century origin with a few of earlier date around 16th century within the upper and lower regions of the village are two outstanding Inns renowned for their fine food and ales. The Horse & Groom in Upper Oddington and the Fox Inn in lower.
