Timisu de Sus, previously known by the name of Vama Timis, is situated at an altitude of 800 880 metres, at the base of the mountains Piatra Mare (1844 m) and Postavaru (1800 m) it is renown for its ozonized microclimate. Up until 1918, the town was the border between Austro-Hungary and Romania. Due to its geographic, climatic and esthetic particularities, the Predeal resort has developed a lot of tourist potential.
