The hotel gracefully blends into Beijing's famed scenic attraction which is the hotel's namesake and is a good place for those looking for a bit of peace and quiet in the ever-changing capital. The garden itself was modelled as recently as 1984 on the residence which features in Cao Xueqin's classic Qing Dynasty novel 'The Dream of the Red Chamber'. Although not an antique garden in any respect, the garden, which was completed in 1988, is a good way to gain an insight into ancient Chinese culture. This air-conditioned 383-room hotel welcomes guests into a lobby with 24-hour reception and check-out service, a hotel safe, currency exchange facilities, cloakroom, lift access, a newspaper stand and a hairdressing salon.
