Kwafubesi Tented Safari CampThis tented safari camp offers guests spectacular golden plains, breathtaking sunsets and Big 5 game viewing. The Place of the Giant Eagle Owl, is the ideal location for a starry-eyed getaway. Discreetly tucked away in the tree line on the edge of the magnificent Mvubu plain, the hotel pampers its guests in five luxury canvas tents, where romantic oil lamps and home-cooked meals served in the thatched Lapa add to this unique 'Out of Africa' experience. Situated in the malaria-free Mabula private game reserve, this safari camp is 212 km north of Johannesburg, 190 km from Sun City, 47 km from Warmbaths, 150 km from Pretoria, 150 km from Shidzidzi and Nungubane and 200 km from Johannesburg International Airport. Accommodation is in 5 twin tents, which sleep a total of 10 persons. Guests are offered hot air-balloon safaris, bush walks, horse riding, game viewing and Land Rover safaris. Meals are served in the Lapa's romantic dining area. For special occasions, bush dinners have proven to be an excellent alternative, combining the enjoyment of superb food with the tranquillity and captivating scenic beauty of the African bushveld. From October to March guests are advised to bring summer clothes as well as a warm jacket or jersey for the cooler mornings and evenings. From April to September guests should pack winter clothes, including a very warm insulated jacket for the cold mornings and nights. Hats, scarves and gloves are recommended. Comfortable walking shoes, track shoes or boots are useful for the bush walks and sandals are practical for walking around the lodge. Shorts and t-shirts are needed all year round for the warm midday period. It is recommended that guests bring with them a swimming costume, sun block, insect repellent, sun hat, sunglasses and lip balm.
