Marlinspike Guest Lodge is well placed for your Cape Town holiday. Situated in Hout Bay, it is out of the busy city area with unobstructed views of the sea and the un-populated mountains. Relax and enjoy the rural open space knowing you only a short drive to the centre of Cape Town. In Hout Bay itself there is plenty to do. Take a trip to Duiker Island to see the seals and view the village from the sea, or visit the famous World of Birds which boasts a wide variety of local and exotic species. Hout Bay has a rich history as an outpost for the defense of the Cape and there are a number of old cannons. If you would prefer to hike the mountains, there are numerous options just speak to Paul and he'll point you in the right direction. Being only 25 minutes drive from the center of Cape Town, Table Mountain and The Waterfront are close by. We are also half way to Cape Point and you can enjoy the scenic drive along the famous Chapmans Peak drive to get to Cape Point and further round the peninsula to visit Boulders beach and the penguins. We also recommend that you stop off in Kalk bay and visit the antique shops and restaurants in the area. On your return, you can visit one of the many wine farms in the Constantia area and possibly try one of the excellent restaurants on the farms before coming back for a well deserved drink in our pub. You may also choose to take your drink and enjoy the evening on the balcony overlooking the lights of the town of Hout Bay and the harbour.
