Outstanding BandB accommodation, peacefully located in the hamlet of Preston, with the dramatic backdrop of Preston Tower on one side and sweeping fields and big Northumbrian skies stretching to the sea on the other side - nothing could be more perfect! Alnwick, Low Newton, Bamburgh, Seahouses, The Farne Islands and the Holy Island of Lindisfarne are all within easy reach. The bedrooms are elegantly furnished, mainly with antiques in a traditional English style, with exceptionally comfortable beds and generous en-suites with all comforts - extra large baths, vigourous showers and lovely views. A delightful drawing-room for quiet moments with a book or the newspaper and a dining-room with individual tables which can be joined together for a larger group. Delicious and satisfying Northumbrian breakfasts start the day, using as much local produce as possible and special diets are catered for with prior notice. Try to spot Red Squirrel from the house and garden, or slip across the road to Preston Tower and read up on this important medieval landmark. Climb to the top of the tower for outstanding 365% views! There are quiet bays for sleepy afternoons and magnificent long beaches, more often than not complete with ancient castles right on the coastline - a paradise for artists, walkers, bird watchers and golfers. Inland, the gently rolling Cheviot Hills, stately homes and superb gardens offer much to enjoy away from the coast. Visit Barter Books in Alnwick, pick up a few books and return to the tranquilty of Preston House and as night draws in hear the owls softly hooting in the surrounding woodland. We can arrange just about any kind of activity, course or experience, through our close family connection with Experience North Country - dependent on your stay dates! A car is recommended to enjoy the area fully, but we are not far from several interesting eateries catering for all tastes from smart hotel and pub restaurants to delightful farm shopstearooms and seaside fish and chips! Newcastle and Edinburgh are still within range and we are only one and three quarter miles from the A1 north and south - a perfect stop-over for going to and from Scotland. Business people are also very welcome and we have special loyalty rates for regular customers!
