Pencraig Court Hotel welcomes guests for business or leisure, or a combination of both! Built in 1780, Pencraig Court became the home of Sir Humphrey de Trafford in 1876, whose family stayed in residence until the 1950's. It is now home to Liz and Malcolm Dobson who run the hotel, and their daughter Katie who runs her own business, Live Life Events (corporate and private groups for activity breaks, team building, networking - you name it, she can arrange it). The hotel offers guests a warm welcome with an informal atmosphere, traditional home-cooked food and good wines. Produce is locally sourced where possible and many fruit, vegetables and herbs are grown in the orchard and kitchen garden. All bedrooms are en suite, with televisions, tea and coffee and hair dryers. There is a small sitting room with television and a larger drawing room, with a baby grand piano which our guests are encouraged to play, and a cheering log fire in winter; French windows open into the gardens. There is broadband connection throughout the hotel. There is one four poster bedroom, with a bay window overlooking the River Wye and beyond. The family room has a double bed and single bed, with smaller pull-out bed for a smaller child. Locally, places of interest include gardens, cathedrals, castles, wildlife centres. Activities nearby: golf, canoeing, climbing and abseiling, 4 x 4 off-road driving, cycling, quad bikes, clay shooting, great walks, and back home there is croquet on the lawn.
