This simple spa hotel occupies single-story wooden buildings on a private 400-hectare natural reserve, and lies 20 km from the Cerro de la Muerte mountain pass and 79 km from downtown San José.
The warm, understated rooms have private bathrooms, and feature tile floors and safes. Suites add coffeemakers; some have fireplaces.
Breakfast and parking are complimentary. The tranquil spa features a sauna, a steam room and hot tubs. There's also a bright restaurant, and a relaxed bar with a circular fireplace and a reserve-view terrace. Activities include birdwatching, hiking and horseback riding are available.
