Sheedy's Country House Hotel is an award-winning family run hotel and restaurant situated in Lisdoonvarna, Co. Clare, just 8 minutes drive from the Cliffs of Moher and Doolin. Traditional Irish music is available seven nights a week in the local pubs which are just a 3 minute walk from the hotel.
This charming house has welcomed guests for over 300 years and your hosts John Sheedy and his wife Martina are proud to offer their guests the intimacy and warmth of a country guest house with the services of a small hotel.
John's cooking has been awarded 2 AA Rosettes for the last 12 years and has also earned him several other recommendations including; Georgina Campbell Best Breakfast in Munster, Bridgestone Guide to Ireland, Good Food Guide, Good Hotel Guide Fodors, Michelin and the New York Times. Martina was awarded Host of the Year 2008.
John's dishes are all freshly cooked to order and he sources as many ingredients as possible from local artisan producers. Martina tends to the organic vegetables and herbs that are grown in the family's Potager Garden.
Guestrooms have been individually designed with homely comforts and an atmosphere of unhurried luxury in mind. The library, cozy bar with its open turf fire and the flower garden are all perfect for a relaxing read or enjoying a Guinness in the afternoon before dinner.
Sheedy's is a great base for exploring the Burren's unique landscape and as keen walkers themselves, John and Martina are delighted to share their local knowledge with guests about accessible hikes, walks and cycling trails.
