Set on 50 acres in a mansion dating from 1916, this upscale B&B is off Route 11 in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. It's a mile from the Shenandoah Valley Agricultural Research and Extension Center.
Bright rooms and suites have Wi-Fi access, flat-screen TVs, gas or electric fireplaces, and private bathrooms with Jacuzzi tubs. Woodsy-chic cabins feature cathedral ceilings, pine walls, kitchens, and decks with hot tubs.
Hot breakfast is served in a bright dining room (fee for cabin guests). Free cookies and wine/cheese tastings are provided. There's also an outdoor pool and a pond, plus walking trails. Kids age 10 and older are welcome.
