This beautiful Grade II listed neo-gothic building has been completely refurbished in March 2010. We offer modern style and comfort in a relaxed atmosphere. Our bedrooms, all with flat screen tv's, freeview and internet access, tea and coffee making facilities, biscuits and fresh fruit will welcome you after a long journey. We believe in starting the day the Lemon Tree way and take pride in our freshly prepared full breakfasts and continental buffet selection washed down with fresh juice and Illy Italian coffee. We even offer our coffee to go so you can take out a great coffee to enjoy on your travels. Throughout the day with our daytime coffee shop vibe The Lemon Tree is a great place to relax with free wi-fi and daily newspapers available. Dine in our modern Italian restaurant and enjoy mouth watering food, freshly prepared by Chef / Manager Carmine. Choose from our extensive, carefully selected wine list or ask one of our knowledgeable team to recommend a wine to complement your menu choice. We have a fabulous cocktail menu, serve continental lagers, a wide selection of quality aperitifs and spirits for you to enjoy something a little special. The Lemon Tree was origianlly designed by a local Wrexham architect, James Reynolds Gummow, built as a private residence in 1865 and named "Abbotsfield". Gummow was responsible for many of the Victorian villas in the area. At some stage it became the Denbighshire and Clwyd Area Education Office. During the war years, one wing was given over to "The Abbotsfield Priory War Nursery". Our central location makes it easy for business in the town and for exploring the local sights. Nearby Llangollen, which is world famous for its Eisteddfod, also holds jazz and food festivals. Chirk and Holt each has a castle to explore while Offa's Dyke is of notable historic importance. Chester is in easy reach for sightseeing, shopping and the Races, which are also held even closer to hand at Bangor-on-Dee.
