The Old ferry Boat Inn, built before the last Millennium overlooks the great Ouse which winds itself caressingly around the tiny hamlet of Holywell, near St Ives in Cambridgeshire. It's beautifully thatched roof and white stone walls are a monument to those travellers who once rested here centuries ago after quenching their thirst and satisfying their hunger with the finest of old English Fayre. Having been constructed in Anglo-Saxon times, the Old Ferry Boat is England's oldest inn. Historical documents record that liquor was first retailed here as early as 560 A.D, although experts estimate that the foundations are a century older. Whether visiting the area on business or for pleasure the Old Ferry Boat is a delightful place to stay. We have seven tastefully decorated and furnished rooms designed to make your stay with us as comfortable and memorable as possible. All rooms have en-suite facilities. A full English breakfast is included in the price of your room and provides a satisfying start to any day!The restaurant is located throughout three different areas of the Inn providing you with a fantastic choice of seating for a tranquil and relaxing meal. Our extensive menu offers a delicious range of dishes, catering for all tastes from traditional favourites to more exotic choices. As well as the amazing history found all around the Old Ferry Boat, the beautiful town of St Ives has many historic buildings. Cambridge is only 20 minutes away, and the Duxford war memorial museum is close by as well.
