Woodlands Guest House and Tearooms are situated in Charlesworth, in the High Peak region, close to Glossop and Manchester. This welcoming and well appointed Victorian house is set in a mature garden with fabulous views. It has a guest lounge which is available at any time during your stay and where you will be welcomed with a tea or coffee with cake or biscuits to revive you after your journey. There is also a tea room with views over the garden, based in the conservatory. Woodlands is a great base from which to explore the Peak District. A short drive into Glossop puts you onto the A57 that takes you over the Snake Pass to the Ladybower reservoir area, famous for its 'Dambusters' raid practice. Driving south to Chapel-en-le-Frith gives easy access to the Hope Valley where you can visit show caves at Castleton or take in the views from Mam Tor. Keep driving south from Chapel to the spa town of Buxton or Chatsworth House, Haddon hall or even a little further to reach Ashbourne. There is always Manchester for a city day, shopping or sightseeing travelling from the local train station one mile from Woodlands which takes 20 minutes on the train. Woodlands is run by Judy and Brian Mairs. Judy has been selected as a top 20 finalist in the prestigious AA 'Landlady Of The Year' event in 2003, 2004 and 2006 and 2008. The tearoom was nominated in the Derbyshire Food and Drinks Award 2008/9 and was runner up in the Top tearoom in all of Derbyshire, beating very stiff competition.
