The city of Lancaster is the county town of Lancashire, in the northwest of England. Among the main places of interest in the city are: Lancaster Canal, which is excellent for a walk and from where you can obtain good views of the city; and Lancaster Castle, which is one of England's most beautiful castles. This dates back to the 12th century and is still in the possession of the Crown. We also recommend a visit to Lancaster Cemetery and the City Museum, which is found in an interesting building from 1781. It has exhibits on the historical and archaeological heritage of the city. You can also see the Grand Theatre and the Maritime Museum, where you can find out about the history of the Port of Lancaster and the city's fishing industry, with a number of boats on display. If you are looking for somewhere to enjoy the fresh air, why not take a walk in Lancaster Park, where there is a play area for children as well as picnic areas. Other sights include the Millennium Bridge and the River Lune Millennium Park. Discover this varied and interesting city, visit Lancaster!
