Black Swan Guest House
21 High Street Marton
John, Judy and their son Graham offer you a warm welcome at the Black Swan, which stands on the main street of Marton at the crossroads of the A156 and the A1500, approximately 5 miles south of the historic market town of Gainsborough and 14 miles north west of the city of Lincoln, with its superb Cathedral and Castle. The property is Grade II listed, and dates from the 18th Century as an old coaching inn, and was built on the site of a former building known as the "Black Swan Posting House". There is an existing cellar from this property, and it is said that Oliver Cromwell rested here during the Battle of Gainsborough in 1643. |
